1. Welcome to the Adventure of Litter-Picking in Wormington Parish!
A journey into the weird, wonderful, and fascinating world of the roads and verges of the parish. The changing seasons. The encounters with the past. The beauties of this place we live in. Roadside friendships, generosities and camaraderies. The flotsam and jetsam which is constantly changing, bringing suprises and discoveries and not a few mysteries. Despair, and deep satisfactions. All life is here, plus a contribution to a better future. What could be better? Enjoy.

Photograph taken November 24, 2023. Alcohol, or its spiritual memory in a variety of empty bottles and cans, will form a large part of the litter-picking story to follow: a useful reminder that among the drivers of cars, vans, lorries, tractors, motorcycles maybe - fellow users of the roads around us - some are drinking as they go along, or park and drink and then carry on.
But this was a special and so far unique find. Thrown into the overgrowth of the verge was an unopened bottle, of a brand popular enough to leave its bottle caps and empties, and even completed boxes, regularly distributed alongside the roads. But it was unopened!
What on earth is the story?
